Box Opening

Deacon Brian McAlinden CBE presided over a very successful Box Opening Supper this evening for the Incorporation. We heard presentations first of all from representatives of our educational projects, at Glasgow Clyde College, one of whose fashion designers was presented with her prize by the Deacon and ExDeacon Pierotti, Chairman of the Education Committee:

ExDeacon Dr Iain Lennox then led a presentation on the Cordiners' "Body and Sole" Charity, providing footwear to enable disadvantaged children to participate in sport and outdoor activities.

After a delicious supper, we had a short presentation on the wonderful work of the Glasgow Disabled Scouts and the rebuilding of their Glengoyne Lodge at Auchengillan, central to the work of this marvellous group, to which we have made some substantial donations.

Deacon Brian presented the Scout Leader, Michael Holmes, with an armorial plaque for display in the Lodge to mark our pride in being associated with such a life-enhancing group and the Deacon Convener, Bruce Reidford gave a vote of thanks.
