Happy Festivals to Cordiners everywhere.

Deacon in Nitshill

Deacon Bergman, with ExDeacon Dr Iain Lennox and Liam Entwistle, visited St Bernard's Primary, Nitshill on Wednesday, to present a cheque for £8000 to PEPASS (Physical Education, Physical Activity & School Sport) on behalf of Body and Sole.

The Cordiners have in the current year given £30000 in footwear to encourage physical activity in children and young people.

Annual Choosing Dinner - February 7th 2020

ANNUAL CHOOSING DINNER - February 7th 2020 Invitation letters for our Choosing Dinner went out today by email (or post to whose for whom we do not have email addresses). Deacon Bergman has arranged a wonderful evening for us with fine food and wines, heraldry, musical entertainment and stellar speakers:. The Guest Speakers are former Lord Mayor of London, Baron Levene of Portsoken KBE, and Maurice Corry TD MSP, MSP for the West of Scotland. Tickets are available now from the Clerk, Tom Monteith

Lord Levene is a former Chairman of Lloyds of London and was the 671st Lord Mayor of London.

Mastercourt Meeting 10th December 2019

At its Mastercourt meeting this evening, the Cordiners carried forwards its plans to develop our "Body and Sole" initiative, providing footwear to needy children for sport, outdoor activities and ballet. We have a presentation event coming up shortly which will provide more detail on this, our own very exciting project. In addition, the Cordiners agreed to support three wonderful local charities: the Glasgow City Mission, K.I.N.D (Scotland), and the Appeal by the Glasgow Disabled Scouts for a major rebuild of their lodge at Auchengillan.

Children's Classic Concerts

ExDeacon Devlin attended the spectacular Christmas Concert today of Children's Classic Concerts on the Board of which he represents the Trades House.

Deacon at the Castle

Deacon Dr Beverly Bergman presided over the St Andrewstide events of the Heraldry Society of Scotland, of which she is Chairman, at Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Scots Club at the weekend.
